The pre-screen typically includes auto-refraction, eye pressure measurement, and retinal imaging (optional). This will be completed by Laura, our experienced eye care technician, who will talk you through the whole process. Dr. Verma will then complete a Visual Acuity Test to determine an accurate prescription for glasses, an Eye Health Check to evaluate the structures of your eyes, and discuss any questions that you may have. The machine is fast, painless, and can capture 80% view of your retina in less than a few seconds. During the scan, you will see a flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. I was born and raised in Baltimore County, earned my undergraduate degree at Boston University, and completed my optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Before opening Verma Eye Care inside Costco in Middle River, MD, I served as a Managing Optometrist at LensCrafters. I’m passionate about patient care and believe eye exams should feel comfortable, thorough, and never rushed. I enjoy helping patients with comprehensive eye exams, glasses and contact lens fittings (including toric and multifocal lenses), and LASIK consultations. When I’m not in the office, I love spending time at home with my husband and our two children.
